< < < Original Commissioning Program (submitted by Charlie Grubb)

This is the program from the original commissioning when the USS Truckee was "turned over" to her very first crew of sailors (know as Plank Owners). The ceremony took place in the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard on November 23, 1955

< < < Official Deck Log from November, 1955 (submitted by Charlie Grubb)

This is the "Official Deck Log" of the USS Truckee from the time she was commissioned until the end of that month. There is also a partial listing of officers and crew from that period. These were obtained by Charlie Grubb through The National Archives and have been "declassified".

< < < Official Navy pictures of USS Truckee (submitted by Charlie Grubb)

The following are "official" Navy pictures of the USS Truckee that have now been declassified. They were collected and submitted by Charlie Grubb who is a "Plank Owner"... meaning, he was part of the original crew at the time the USS Truckee was placed into service (Commissioned). Back in the days of wooden ships, and even modern day ships with a wooden deck, the Plank Owners were/are entitled to a piece of a plank from that ship when it was/is taken out of service.
